Originally from Jamaica, Grace C. Wright now proudly calls Connecticut home. Grace began her academic journey at Saint Andrew High School in Kingston before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Hartford.
She went on to earn a Master’s in Math Education from the University of Massachusetts, where she also taught pre-calculus and shared her cultural heritage through Jamaican folk dance. Grace holds teaching licenses in both Connecticut and Massachusetts and has spent over 20 years inspiring students as a dedicated secondary school math teacher.
Beyond the classroom, Grace is the founder of Grace C. Wright Performing Arts, where she teaches, choreographs, and performs at cultural events across New England. Celebrated for her vibrant and imaginative costume designs, she was featured in CPTV’s “Where Art Thou” series in 2022 as a Caribbean choreographer and designer. Her fashion line, Grace by Grace, debuted at Middlesex Fashion Week in 2023 and returned in 2024 with bold, culturally inspired collections.
Affectionately known as “Dancer” or “The Dancing Math Teacher,” Grace seamlessly blends her love of mathematics, movement, and Caribbean culture. She draws creative inspiration from her travels throughout the Caribbean, Canada, and Argentina, and finds her greatest source of motivation in her son, David.
