Born and raised in Portmore, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Jamaal grew up in a deeply musical family and began singing at the age of seven, performing in churches alongside his mother, who was an evangelist and is now a pastor. His passion for music continued through school choirs and performance groups before he joined the Jamaican band Purpose, further developing his artistry.
Since moving to the United States in 2014, Jamaal has continued to share his gift with audiences through a versatile style that blends gospel, reggae, R&B, and contemporary music, delivering heartfelt performances that connect with listeners of all backgrounds.
